I have been an avid amateur photographer since 1976, shooting exclusively with 35mm SLR cameras. My camera of choice is the Olympus OM 2000 at the moment. My preferred lens is the basic 35mm-75mm zoom that comes standard with the OM 2000.
Since I began my hobby of photography, I have shoot on assignment for several weddings, done portrait shoots with children and animals and have done a few model portfolio sets for friends.
Living in the Gulf Coast area of Northwest Florida as broadened my excitement for photography. The beautiful area, combined with old southern houses, the surf and sand and the people of this area opens up a whole new range of subjects.
I love to photograph children and animals mostly. Capturing a child's smile or a gleam of love in a child's eye is well worth the time and all the reward I need from photography.
Now that I am in Florida, I have beautiful sunrises and sunsets to shoot. The birds are also abundant and easily accessible. And of course flowers grow year round in Florida.
Most of my photography training has been self-taught. Reading photography books, photography magazines, trial and error and just shooting the kinds of pictures I enjoy shooting.
I have taken Basic Photography at the Milwaukee Area Technical College and have enrolled in the New York Institute of Photography.

I have entered locally sponsored photo contest with some success. Taking a 1st Place in the MATC Student Photography Contest. Honored Mention in the Cherry Point Military Fair and Expo.
Several of my photos have been published in local newspapers, Milwaukee Journal and Beaufort Gazette.
A picture I took for the Pictures.com International Photography Contest was published in their book "Images of the Mind" copyright 2001.
